We just had a hard time deciding what to do on Sunday! It was just after breakfast (around 10 a.m, I guess) and going to a movie didn’t sound interesting to me. Besides, Fred just had his movie time with his cousins the night before. I thought spending sometime in a museum might be a good idea. And since I had no clue at all about what’s currently happening in the city, I checked out JKTGO.COM and found out about this museum, ART:1 New Museum & Art Space!
It’s been 2 years since the last time I went back home to Jambi, my hometown. It was May 2013, if I recall. I kinda missed it, you know, being at home all day & do nothing. So last week, I made an unplanned trip to Jambi. It was very spontaneous, I swear! I just needed to renew my driving licence and I can’t do it elsewhere but in Jambi (yes it sucks), but at least I got a reason for this impromptu trip!
Going back home after years makes me feel good! Everything suddenly seems to be more interesting that it normally was. I ate a lot of local foods I can hardly find here in Jakarta or Bandung. And… I got to spend so much time with my parents. What could be even better, right?
And by the way, since I’m quite bored with my usual restaurant review posts, I decided to make a post about some of my favorite foods in Jambi, with a list of places of where you can have that particular food. Isn’t is awesome?!
There’s always room (and time) for coffee with a friend. So it was Sunday morning, and I was about to pack all my things and move all the way to Jakarta. I woke up early to pick Fred up at the train station as he offered a help (and who can refuse anyway?). Actually, I was planning to wake up earlier so I could have my breakfast at home, but, you know… I failed miserably.
So, anyway, on our way home, I was like : “Hey wanna grab a cup of coffee? I haven’t had mine this morning”. And I remembered weeks ago, my friend Augi told me about this new place of Yellow Truck Coffee. Just so you know, Yellow Truck used to have this very small and not-so-comfortable place. But now look what it got!
You know, sometimes all you need is simply a cup of nice coffee in a small non-mainstream coffee shop with your dearest friend. So it was 3 days before I left Bandung, and I sort of showed my to-go-before-I-leave list to my friend, Augi, and she was like : “Oh! I forgot to take you to SF Roastery! We should go tonight!”. Then off we went!
SF Roastery is Augi’s favorite coffee shop in Bandung. And she has been willing to take me here ever since. “You’ll love it, Sharon!”, she said. I never knew what this place is all about, and uhm, I was not really sure if I’m going to love it or hate it. I didn’t hear much about this place either. But now I understand why she insisted on taking me here.
After spending a day walking around Ubud, me and Meidiana decided to go back to our hotel at Kuta area around 6 pm. It’s been a long fun sunny day. But at the end, we were so tired. We walked around our hotel to find a nice restaurant nearby for dinner. It was a fortunate that we came across Nebula Room at Poppies Lane 2. Just in time before I craved myself to death!
It was Friday night and Nebula was having this live acoustic music performance. Too bad that it was already dark as I SWEAR TO YOU Nebula looks AMAZING under the daylight. I mean, it’s full of colorful ornaments and stuffs. Like, every edges of the restaurant is so instagram-able. Lanjutkan membaca NEBULA ROOM, Bali
If there’s one particular food that I keep craving for, that would be Japanese Food – no need to think twice. So right after coming back home to Bandung after my short trip to Bali early this month (will write more about it later!), I went to Fukuzushi with @nakamajem, just for the sake of fulfilling my cravings. As another year winds up, I take a look back at the past 12 months I’ve passed. And looking back, there’s nothing more I could feel beside being grateful. I just can’t believe that I came across this time faster. It’s way faster than I thought, indeed. But in so many ways, 2014 has been one of my best year. It was so full of challenges, laughter, tears, stress, works, struggles, and surprises. It got its ups and downs. But it was a big sweet one.
Now here we are at the very end of 2014. So here’s a little look back at the amazing year!
Let’s be grateful, as we’ve just lived one year more.
It’s that time of the year again! I can’t believe December, my favorite month, is about to come to an end and that Christmas is just a few days away! I don’t know why, but there’s always something about Christmas that excites me. The Christmas tree, the tiny blinking lights, the sparkling decorations, the bells, the songs, well, basically everything about Christmas is just so heartwarming.
There’s also something about Christmas I have always been waiting for : THE CHRISTMAS DINNER! For you, people living in Bandung, you might wanna check this newly opened restaurant out for your Christmas Dinner. It’s Sonoma Resto!
