SF Roastery Coffee Lab, Bandung

Cold Brew Bandung

You know, sometimes all you need is simply a cup of nice coffee in a small non-mainstream coffee shop with your dearest friend. So it was 3 days before I left Bandung, and I sort of showed my to-go-before-I-leave list to my friend, Augi, and she was like : “Oh! I forgot to take you to SF Roastery! We should go tonight!”. Then off we went!

SF Roastery is Augi’s favorite coffee shop in Bandung. And she has been willing to take me here ever since. “You’ll love it, Sharon!”, she said. I never knew what this place is all about, and uhm, I was not really sure if I’m going to love it or hate it. I didn’t hear much about this place either. But now I understand why she insisted on taking me here.

It’s located just a little bit out of the tourist area of the city, and there was not much people when we arrived. As long as I remember, It was just us and a couple sitting beside us. The coffee shop is dominated with woods which make it feels warm.

I can’t believe we’re having coffee at 7 pm. I ended up staying awake until 2 AM, just so you know.

Picollo (IDR 13k)

Coffee Shop Bandung

Piccolo SF Roastery

What is this little drink popping up on cafe’s menu? Well, it might not be as popular as latte, but nowadays I spot some coffee shops in Bandung serving Piccolo, which is basically a Ristretto shot topped with milk in a small latte glass. So it’s more or less, a mini latte.

Cafe Latte (IDR 15k)

Coffee Bandung

They used Ciwidey single origin for my latte. (Sometimes they use Sumedang beans). What I like about it is that is has this mild acidity (I can’t stand the one with strong acidity!) and light body. Plus, it was sweet without any sugar added.

Quiche (IDR 18k)

To be honest, this was my first time eating quiche, and I must confess that I like it! For me, it felt like eating lasagna for the first time : you had no idea what this slimy thing is going to taste like but as soon as you take a spoon of it, you’ll be surprised and you’ll find your self eating some more.

So this quiche has this buttery pastry crust and also savory custard with cheese, chicken, and mushroom as the filling. I think I’m gonna make some myself at home if I have any spare time.

Cold Brew (IDR 5k)

Now tell me, where else can you get a nice cold brew coffee for only IDR 5k? SF Roastery rocks!!!!

In short, it was a lovely night! Period. I’m sure you’re gonna love this place just as much as I do.

The coffee here is surprisingly cheap! Latte at 15k,where else can you get it… In Medan, it’s twice the price!

That’s exactly what I thought when I read their menu!!! I usually have to pay like, 25k – 30k for latte here.

Make sense if they roast beans by themselves, but do they?

Hai Leo, yes, they roast their own beans. In less than a month, they will put their own micro coffee roaster inside the coffee shop.

Oh btw, hi! This Augi! 🙂

SF roastery, been there as well, just 2 days ago..
Ended up bought their 200grs Garut origin, since it smells like sweet-cassava and tasted better than their Sumedang ones, at least to my taste-buds, when we cupped it.. 🙂

oh iyah, dan pintunya teh digeser, gagangnya di sebelah kiri..
