I’ve heard so much about this place even long before I moved to Jakarta. It’s said to be one of the best places for buffet in the city. And you know what? Last month (I think it was last month), Martha from @BaliFoodies called me and said that she’s going to be around in the city the next two week and asked me to join the mini InstaMeet she was about to hold during lunch break at SATOO. I was like, why not?! It would be really lovely if I could join the lunch and meet the other foodies from Jakarta.

[ JAMBI ] My Favorite Foods!
It’s been 2 years since the last time I went back home to Jambi, my hometown. It was May 2013, if I recall. I kinda missed it, you know, being at home all day & do nothing. So last week, I made an unplanned trip to Jambi. It was very spontaneous, I swear! I just needed to renew my driving licence and I can’t do it elsewhere but in Jambi (yes it sucks), but at least I got a reason for this impromptu trip!
Going back home after years makes me feel good! Everything suddenly seems to be more interesting that it normally was. I ate a lot of local foods I can hardly find here in Jakarta or Bandung. And… I got to spend so much time with my parents. What could be even better, right?
And by the way, since I’m quite bored with my usual restaurant review posts, I decided to make a post about some of my favorite foods in Jambi, with a list of places of where you can have that particular food. Isn’t is awesome?!
Manual Coffee Brewing Workshop at MG&Co
To be honest, I know nothing about coffee brewing except pouring hot water to my ground coffee. That’s what I do every morning because it is practically the easiest one. Besides, I have no fancy tools or even machine with me. Just a mug and a spoon to stir. But you know, there seem to be some new coffee brewing tools available in store lately. Most of them are very affordable, compared to espresso machine, and easy to use!
I never tried using one until I went to MG&Co weeks ago to attend their Manual Coffee Brewing Workshop.
Yellow Truck, Bandung
There’s always room (and time) for coffee with a friend. So it was Sunday morning, and I was about to pack all my things and move all the way to Jakarta. I woke up early to pick Fred up at the train station as he offered a help (and who can refuse anyway?). Actually, I was planning to wake up earlier so I could have my breakfast at home, but, you know… I failed miserably.
So, anyway, on our way home, I was like : “Hey wanna grab a cup of coffee? I haven’t had mine this morning”. And I remembered weeks ago, my friend Augi told me about this new place of Yellow Truck Coffee. Just so you know, Yellow Truck used to have this very small and not-so-comfortable place. But now look what it got!
SF Roastery Coffee Lab, Bandung
You know, sometimes all you need is simply a cup of nice coffee in a small non-mainstream coffee shop with your dearest friend. So it was 3 days before I left Bandung, and I sort of showed my to-go-before-I-leave list to my friend, Augi, and she was like : “Oh! I forgot to take you to SF Roastery! We should go tonight!”. Then off we went!
SF Roastery is Augi’s favorite coffee shop in Bandung. And she has been willing to take me here ever since. “You’ll love it, Sharon!”, she said. I never knew what this place is all about, and uhm, I was not really sure if I’m going to love it or hate it. I didn’t hear much about this place either. But now I understand why she insisted on taking me here.
Brunch at SUKHA DELIGHTS, Bandung
It’s Sunday! You know what that means : it’s time for waking up late and time for Sunday Brunch! It’s been quite sometime since I went out on Sunday morning to have brunch. But this morning, I was completely in a good mood and besides, I was craving for a nice croissant since…. the night before. And there’s no better place to have one in Bandung beside Sukha Delights.
NEBULA ROOM, Bali
After spending a day walking around Ubud, me and Meidiana decided to go back to our hotel at Kuta area around 6 pm. It’s been a long fun sunny day. But at the end, we were so tired. We walked around our hotel to find a nice restaurant nearby for dinner. It was a fortunate that we came across Nebula Room at Poppies Lane 2. Just in time before I craved myself to death!
It was Friday night and Nebula was having this live acoustic music performance. Too bad that it was already dark as I SWEAR TO YOU Nebula looks AMAZING under the daylight. I mean, it’s full of colorful ornaments and stuffs. Like, every edges of the restaurant is so instagram-able.Lanjutkan membaca “NEBULA ROOM, Bali”
Fukuzushi, Bandung
If there’s one particular food that I keep craving for, that would be Japanese Food – no need to think twice. So right after coming back home to Bandung after my short trip to Bali early this month (will write more about it later!), I went to Fukuzushi with @nakamajem, just for the sake of fulfilling my cravings.Lanjutkan membaca “Fukuzushi, Bandung”
