Murni's Warung Ubud

Murni’s Warung, Ubud, Bali

My idea of relaxing, is to sit in a nice restaurant or a cafe, sipping coffee, eating good food, enjoying what is has to offer. Lucky me, I got a friend to travel around Bali without having to argue about where to eat next, what time to leave, or which way to go. Because you know, Mei and I seemed to have the same taste & pace of travelling. It’s nice!
Mei is not the kind of person who’d like to see all things at once. Instead, she took it slow. So we would pick an area to explore in one day and see how it goes later. We really didn’t have much plan.

Kwetiau Ace Jambi

Kwetiau Hance / Atek, Jambi

There must be something really good about this place that I decided to blog about it. YES, it’s my favorite kwetiau ever (you know, that long thinly sliced rice cake). It’s one of those must-eat food when I’m back to my hometown, Jambi.

Finding the best kwetiau is a struggle. It’s like finding love. I’ve tried several places, both halal and non-halal. And obviously, the non-halal one has this thicker and more intense flavour. You just can’t beat the flavor of lard.

Ice and Bean Jambi

Ice and Bean, Jambi

It was a hoooot hot day yesterday and I craved for something cool, something sweet and icy. I knew this place called Ice and Bean in Talang Banjar, Jambi. But never got a chance to visit it myself. I mean, I rarely crave for shaved ice, so… You won’t find me posting something dedicated to shaved ice that often.

Anyway, we later found that this place serve only food made from homemade ingredients, with no artificial flavours or colouring added. (Feeling relieved, huh?). You’ll find out more about it SOON! Keep reading 😉

BAKE MORE CAKES JAMBI

Bake More Cakes – My New Online Cake Shop

QUICK UPDATE, everyone!

I know… It’s been like 2 months since the last time I update something on my blog. And the reason behind all those is that I’ve been busy working my full time job (still) while managing my side job which happens to be my new business. Well it’s actually my second side job as I also work as a freelance photographer. (Can you imagine how I live my life?! It’s pretty frustrating, sometimes)

So anyway, 2 months ago, I decided to start selling cakes, cupcakes, and even some breads online. The business itself is still very small, like it will never be enough for a living, but it’s constantly growing, I can see it.

Takumi Senayan

Takumi Robata and Sushi, Senayan Jakarta

You know, after I moved to Jambi, often times I find myself craving for sushi over and over again, like constantly. I don’t think I can find it here. I mean, some vendors do sell sushi, but it’s more like a fusion one and I’m not really into fusion. And besides, the one I tried here turned out to be more fusion than what fusion sushi should looks like to me, if you know what I mean. So the thing is, they don’t look like a good choice to me. Period.

Marche Food Review

Marche at Plaza Senayan Jakarta

It’s been ages since the last time I post something on the blog! Gosh, I’ve been busy (and lazy) lately. I found it SO HARD to put everything (effort, mood, etc etc etc) into one place and I just kept procrastinating on pretty much every thing. I HAD THE WORST WEEK, ever. And you know, the traffic in Jakarta really pisses me off, especially on Monday morning AND Friday evening. It’s just crazy. I don’t understand why people could live with this. Perhaps it’s time for me to go back to Bandung, eh? Or Jambi. Anywhere but here. There’s got to be another way.

ANYWAY, enough with the grumbling. So, for the sake of relieving my stressful mind, I went to Marche at Plaza Senayan for lunch during office hour.

Bankara Ramen

Bankara Ramen, Jakarta

So, I went to Lotte Shopping Avenue last night after work. The static work at the office suddenly stressed me out so I thought I need some good food and maybe, a nice movie after dinner. We ended up having Bankara Ramen for dinner. Honestly, I never heard about this place before. I don’t know if it’s just me, but, I didn’t notice anyone mentioning it in social media. So I was a bit hesitate : should we eat here, or just go straight to Sushi Tei? It’s the safest choice, that night. We ended up picking Bankara Ramen.
