Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of taking a short trip to Singapore. I spent the first day alone and slept at a hostel with the other 3 guys sharing the same room. Trust me, my mom freaked out, like so much, when I told her about my roommate. I walked around the city, went to a Cat Cafe, ate a lot of local foods, meeting good old friend. It was more than I could ask for.
You know, most Indonesian come back to Singapore for shopping. Well, it’s a bit different with me, I come back to eat. I found that Singapore offers a great amount of varied foods I can hardly find in Indonesia. And I can’t explain what kind of food it is. It can be Chinese, Malay, Indian, Indonesian, Taiwan, or sometimes the food is even influenced by other culture and ingredients. So here you go…
It’s been ages since the last time I post something on the blog! Gosh, I’ve been busy (and lazy) lately. I found it SO HARD to put everything (effort, mood, etc etc etc) into one place and I just kept procrastinating on pretty much every thing. I HAD THE WORST WEEK, ever. And you know, the traffic in Jakarta really pisses me off, especially on Monday morning AND Friday evening. It’s just crazy. I don’t understand why people could live with this. Perhaps it’s time for me to go back to Bandung, eh? Or Jambi. Anywhere but here. There’s got to be another way.
ANYWAY, enough with the grumbling. So, for the sake of relieving my stressful mind, I went to Marche at Plaza Senayan for lunch during office hour.
You know, I’ve recently noticed that this kind of shot, the oh-my-table-is-so-white-it-looks-so-elegant-i-must-be-a-neat-person shot is kinda popular among Instagramers (or is it just among the people I follow?). There are even several popular tags for that. Let’s say, #whiteaddict. Or, #whitegram, #whyteworks, #whywhiteworks, and many many more. Ring the bell? I bet it does.
I know some people who find it boring, but I personally like this kind of shot. It gives this neat looking picture, with a clean effect without overdo it. So lately, I’ve been doing quite a few white shot and I must admit : IT IS NOT EASY (at the first time)! There are so much trouble like the lighting, your own shadows, your phone shadows, your camera shadows, and even the shadows from the object you’re trying to capture itself sometimes annoys me.
Now I want to share with you how I do my #whiteaddict shot and how I edit it. I use mainly Snapseed for editing my whitegram. I found it soooo easy to use and the most important thing is, it works like wonder! And I’m hoping I could get many many other tips from you! Please don’t be hesitate to hit the comment down below and share what you know about this stuff! 😉

“Happy birthday, Valerie!”
So this was actually my cousin’s birthday lunch. She decided to celebrate her veery special day at Pizza e Birra, Central Park Jakarta. She was actually thinking about another options like Kitchenette but then we ended up having our lunch here. It was a nice pick, really. Good job, cuz!
I’ve been to Pizza e Birra in Bandung before, but didn’t manage to take a good picture. So here we go!
You know, I never knew that there’s such thing as Volcano Ramen. Like, ramen itself is served hot, right? And how hot does it take to make a ramen hot enough that it’s called Volcano Ramen? #confused “Nah, never mind, I’ll just come over and see how they serve the Ramen.”, I thought. So I went to Kazan Ramen Jakarta with Fred last week.
Here, the ramen is served in a hot bowl with a cone-shaped red lid that looks like volcano. The word Kazan itself means volcano, by the way. Now you might be wondering if the broth is going to erupt or something. No no no. That might be too…. unpleasant, and dangerous, really.. Lanjutkan membaca “Kazan Ramen, Jakarta”
Went to this dessert place at Pantai Indah Kapuk several weeks ago. I’ve seen so much photo of their ice cream, especially the one served on a smoky pan. It does looks good in photo! So we went there right after lunch. It was around 2 pm or something and there were already several name on the waiting list. I was like : “What the fuck are they selling?!”
… We ended up waiting on the line, though.
The outlet is, to be honest, pretty small. They have this minimalist design with indoor and semi-outdoor area. I totally forgot to take a pic of it since it’s very packed up that day and I was not in the mood of taking photos. But here’s the thing. The indoor area has this comfy sofa with wooden furniture and cute catchy wallpaper as the background. There’s also this counter at the back side with gelato display which really caught my eyes. Then, there’s this semi-outdoor area which totally get an amaziiing natural lightning from the wide window. The place itself is dominated with wood, blue, and white color. I think it does represent the word “North Pole” pretty well.
There were times when Molten Lava Cakes was such a popular desserts. Like, all of a sudden, this dessert popped up in a lot of restaurant or cafe menu. People took a pic of it, shared it on their social media as if they were saying : “Yo world, I’ve finally tried this fancy dessert! Bet you haven’t.”
And BOOM!, the fame was over. There came another kind of desserts, more good looking, more “photogenic” which make it a lot easier to catch with our camera. Besides, people began to find a way to make it themselves at home! Which turned out, to be quite easy. (Psst. You can even make a ‘quick’ version of it using your microwave!)
