NatWat Home Cafe, Chiang Mai

I should say that I’m not a huge fan of cafe when it comes to lunch time. I’d rather find those tiny stalls in the alley, or go to a local restaurant which is packed up with hungry people during lunch time. But this place got to be an exception, you’ll find out why!

So it was a sunny mid day in Chiang Mai when Fred, Susan, Adam, and I were going to a certain local eatery for lunch. We later found that the place was horrible. There were so many flies, or bees, we didn’t know for sure. But the point is, it looked super dirty and we knew we got to move to another place right away. This Nat Wat thing, was Susan’s idea. (Thanks to you, Susan!!!).

My Favourite Cafes to Work From in Chiang Mai

I think it’s time for me to write something useful. If you read my blog before, you might already know that when I was living in Chiang Mai, I worked from one coffee shop to another, every single day. We tried out quite a lot of places, but ended up having some of our favourite place to work from which we revisited several times during our stay.

We found that not all coffee shops / cafes are suitable for working. Those with noisy customers and wrong height of table and chairs are definitely not in our list. We like the one with soothing ambiance, the one that has a perfect table and chair, and the one with reliable internet connection.

We don’t really care about the food or the price as most of the time, we just grab a cup of coffee and sit there for like 3 or 4 hours. And a 50 Baht & 70 Baht of coffee won’t make that much of difference. Lanjutkan membaca “My Favourite Cafes to Work From in Chiang Mai”

How I Lived and Worked in Chiang Mai, Thailand for a Month

A lot of people have been asking me: “What did you do in Chiang Mai?” “Are you on holiday or what? Why does it take so long?” and blah blah blah.

Well, the truth is,

Yes, I was on a holiday, but no, not that kind of holiday where you have all the time in the world to explore the new place without having anything to do or anything to think about. I don’t have the luxury to spend my own money on a one month holiday, just yet. And I don’t like a short 3 to 7 days kind of holiday either. That kind of short trip might get more expensive because of the flight ticket and stuff and I didn’t want to waste my money only for a week of tiring holiday. Why should I, right? Plus, there is no way I could leave my work for a week, either.

But I could, of course, work 5 days a week in a different place, different country, and travel around the city on the weekend (and weekday nights). So it sounds like a pretty good deal to me.   Lanjutkan membaca “How I Lived and Worked in Chiang Mai, Thailand for a Month”

Roll Me Bakery : Cafe in Chiang Mai

Last month has been marvellous, I should say. Our (almost) one month stay in Chiang Mai was anything but stressful. I can see why there are a lot of Digital Nomads staying in that small city – It’s hassle free, it offers a lot of cheap amazing food, the internet connection is mostly reliable and fast as well, compared to what we usually get in Indonesia – it’s twice as fast I think. And as a result, we spent way much time focusing on our work, rather than wasting our energy on the bad traffic and any other small things that bother us, every single day.

We don’t need to wait for lunch time just to have our lunch. We eat when we feel hungry. We can easily get several cup of good coffee everyday, instead of those crappy coffee available in the office. In short, we got a much much better quality of life. It’s just… incredible.

So anyway, one of our favourite place to work here in Chiang Mai is in Roll Me Bakery. Susan and Adam from pergidulu.com once took us here, said this place is one of their favourite working space as it is very quiet and it has the right table and stuffs.

Chiang Mai Night Market

If you’re like me and you enjoy walking around the street while eating some light bite snacks before you buy another one, chances are, you’ll love Chiang Mai Night Market as much as I do.

I have to admit that I was a little bit sceptical about the night market as it sounds a lot like Bandung Night Market (sorry, pals! It just doesn’t work for my taste). As far as I remembered, Bandung Night Market has too many people inside, too many garbages as well, and not to mention, crappy food. So I thought, Chiang Mai night market would be just as similar. I couldn’t imagine it being any better.

Postcards from Chiang Mai

Sawatde Kha from Chiang Mai!

Just a quick update. It has been a marvellous weeks for us and I can’t believe *well, I REFUSE TO BELIEVE* that we’re going home real soon. *sad*

Chiang Mai is incredibly nice and very suitable for people who works remotely, or as they said, Digital Nomads. True, there are a lot of Digital Nomads out here as there are a lot of cafes serving good coffee with good fair price. You just have to find the one that suits you. You know, the one with the perfect ambience, the perfect height of table, the perfect music, the perfect everything. It’s important. And it’s sooo easy to find one. We ended up having some of our favourites!

Where to Eat Khao Soi in Chiang Mai

I’m pretty sure I’ve never been addicted to a certain food before. But Khao Soi is a rare exception. This very simple dish from Northern Thailand got me right from my very first sip.

If you’re not familiar with this dish, which is normal, you might wanna know what this dish is actually made of before I start with my list of amazing Khao Soi from around Chiang Mai. Well, it’s basically yellow egg noodle, with rich coconut curry soup, some meat (beef, chicken, or pork), and crispy noodle on top. Very rich that you always end up craving for more.

I’ve spent my days eating Khao Soi from place to place during my stay in Chiang Mai and I think it will be cool if I could share my favorite Khao Soi around Chiang Mai. And who knows, maybe you guys have another option I haven’t tried yet? Just let me know!

So here we go. My 9 favourite Khao Soi in Chiang Mai. Enjoy!
