Marche at Plaza Senayan Jakarta

Marche Food Review

It’s been ages since the last time I post something on the blog! Gosh, I’ve been busy (and lazy) lately. I found it SO HARD to put everything (effort, mood, etc etc etc) into one place and I just kept procrastinating on pretty much every thing. I HAD THE WORST WEEK, ever. And you know, the traffic in Jakarta really pisses me off, especially on Monday morning AND Friday evening. It’s just crazy. I don’t understand why people could live with this. Perhaps it’s time for me to go back to Bandung, eh? Or Jambi. Anywhere but here. There’s got to be another way.

ANYWAY, enough with the grumbling. So, for the sake of relieving my stressful mind, I went to Marche at Plaza Senayan for lunch during office hour.

Some of you might have watched my first Youtube video which features MARCHE as my first Restaurant Trip. Pardon the quality, it’s my first attempt! 😛

Now, as I promised (on the video), here’s my post about Marche which covers more details about the place and also the foods. I managed to take some pic of the venue. So it’s basically a market-like restaurant. You go inside, get the payment card, then you order your food in the food stations (with that payment card).

They have various amount of stations here, from salad station, pasta, crepes, grills, and many many more.

And what I like about this place is that it has this warm ambiance. The place is dominated with wood, and warm yellow light.

Then, they also have a lot of station from salad station, crepes, bbq, drink, to dessert. I had a hard time picking what to eat that day as all of it looks tempting to me.

Savory Crepes

First meal! And this was our first savory crepes, ever. This one got roasted chicken with shredded veggies and mixed cheese in it. Plus, white mushroom sauce on the side. Very comforting and yummy! And I totally adore the crepes, it has this buttery smell I can’t resist.

Rösti

Then, we had this so called Rösti. It’s a Swiss dish consisting of grated potato. They shred the potato, then pan-fried it on a saucepan until it’s beautiful golden brown. And served it with beef stroganoff on the side.

You can also eat it without beef sroganoff, just use sour cream instead. Or, I also like to eat it plain, just the way it is. Crispy on the edges, soft inside. Simply yum.

Caesar salad

Next up. We got caesar salad here which I really adore. Very simple and tasty. The freshly grated parmesan cheese makes it even better.

Homemade Bread with Custard, Almond, and Caramel

As for dessert, we got home made bread, with custard in the middle, with almond and caramel on top. They bake it a bit longer until the caramel somehow caramelized (this sounds so wrong). Crispy and sweet on top, soft and buttery in the middle. Love it! It’s just that the caramel is a bit too sweet for me. But aside from that, I can’t complain.

Calamansi and Sour Plum Drink

This is the ultimate menu! It’s calamansi and sour plum drink. It really has this nice refreshing sweet and sour taste. This drink is genius! My mom would love this so much (FYI, she’s really into sour drink).
