Elicxir Artisan Gelato

Quick question : “How much time does one usually need to make an ice cream?
Two hour? Three hour? Perhaps more.

But this technique will only take you about 5 minutes until you can enjoy your lovey dovey ice cream. No ice, no electric ice cream maker, no fridge, no waiting time. All you need is a tiny amount liquid nitrogen (yes, you heard me) and some other ingredients, and you’re ready to go.

Bo Shin Myeong Ga Korean Restaurant, Jakarta

Not familiar with Korean food? Well, me too! Actually, I’m not familiar with anything Korean-related. Not even K-pop or K-drama or whatever. I’ve been looking at my friends’ picture on Instagram, and many of them uploaded pictures of them eating Korean food. I was like : “what does it taste like? spicy? salty?” I have no idea.

Fred took me to Bo Shin Myeong Ga just when my curiosity grows even stronger. It’s an authentic Korean restaurant in South Jakarta.

A Year in Review : 2012

Yes, I know this is a little bit too late for posting a 2012-review. But I don’t care. Better late than never, isn’t it?

Well, 2012 has been a great eventful year for me. I traveled a lot (compared to 2011 when I went to Bali and Pattaya), I ate a lot, cooked a lot, rest a lot, study a little and unfortunately, I understand the lesson even less. The weird thing is, I’m completely okay with that.

I started the year off with a few travel resolutions, involving food and fitness (which turned out that I only did the exercise twice), and some others like ‘getting a summer internship’. Well this one worked.Lanjutkan membaca “A Year in Review : 2012”

Samudera Suki, Jakarta

First of all, I’d like to say Merry Christmas to all of you who happens to celebrate it. May joy, cheer, and happiness always be with you and your family. Wishing that this holiday season lights up your heart and home with joy!

So, what’s up? Hmm, I’ve been busy lately with my final exams and final projects in school. These things keeps me away from my kitchen so I can’t cook any fancy food for Christmas and post the recipe here. Too bad that I missed it.Lanjutkan membaca “Samudera Suki, Jakarta”

Monas, The National Monument of Indonesia

For some people, Monas is just an icon of Jakarta – the capital city of Indonesia. Just like the Eiffel of Paris, perhaps or the Pisa of Italy. I don’t know. I’ve never even been in those places before. Or maybe for some others, Monas is just an old museum or a recreation park where people can jog and have some exercises in Sunday morning. Or perhaps some people even have no idea of what it is inside Monas & they just don’t wanna know about it. They’ll say : “Why should we bother about a monument when we got a lot of malls here in Jakarta? I can’t see anything special about it”. (Well, as a matter of fact, I’m sooo sick of malls.) But for some people, Monas is much more than that. It’s a symbol of struggle. A symbol of freedom and independence.Lanjutkan membaca “Monas, The National Monument of Indonesia”

Ninotchka Coffee Parlour & Diner

This is it! Ninotchka Coffee Parlour & Diner. A perfect hideaway for those looking to escape from the routine in the crowded city, Jakarta.

I’ve never heard about this place before, until my cousin tell me so. She was like : “Oh my God. Seriously? How could you not know about Ninotchka? It has been mentioned a lot in Twitter!”  And I was like : “Oh really? … Too bad I didn’t know anything about it. ”

Well, yeah, she’s right. I then searched the internet about Ninotchka. I found that this cafe is run by one of the famous Indonesian fashion blogger, Sonia Eryka. Okay, I should make another confession. I didn’t know anything about her either since I’m not into fashion blog.Lanjutkan membaca “Ninotchka Coffee Parlour & Diner”
