First of all, I’d like to say Merry Christmas to all of you who happens to celebrate it. May joy, cheer, and happiness always be with you and your family. Wishing that this holiday season lights up your heart and home with joy!

So, what’s up? Hmm, I’ve been busy lately with my final exams and final projects in school. These things keeps me away from my kitchen so I can’t cook any fancy food for Christmas and post the recipe here. Too bad that I missed it.

BUT the good news is… I found one place which is just perfect for a Christmas Eve dinner! Or any dinner in cold night of course, since Christmas Eve happens only once a year. Or a dinner in hot night since the restaurant is full of air-con.

Stop it!

… Okay, as you wish.

So this place, called Samudera Suki, is a sukiyaki restaurant located in the 3rd floor of Taman Anggrek Mall. I used to hate going to the mall but going to the mall for some foods is totally different. There’s sooo much foods to choose in malls that I can barely pay the bills if I follow my big sinful appetites.

And hey, since it’s Christmas day, there stood a huge Christmas tree just right at the center of the mall.

It’s like the biggest prettiest Christmas tree I’ve ever seen. If you live in Jakarta, you shouldn’t miss it. But they do have that giant Christmas tree every year, so if you can’t make it this year, just go back next year and see how magnificent it is! They have different Christmas theme each year, and I think this year’s theme is carnival.

Oops, I’ve gone too far with the christmas-decoration-thing. So let us just move to the restaurant.

The restaurant is actually an all-you-can-eat sukiyaki restaurant which is just greatttt for a family dinner. Or a dinner for two. Or three. Or four …

It costs you IDR 129.0000 for each person on weekends and IDR 110.000 on weekdays (not included 15% tax). And they’ll give you a cheaper price for kids, which I totally forget the detail since I don’t have any kids. Not yet.

Totally worth it! They do serve a really great food here. They got plenty of sushi you can choose, meats, vegetables, seafood, all of the Chinese dumplings and that sort of things, and they also got Hainan rice (which turns out to be my favorite here), beef kwetiaw, Siam noodle, and tons of dessert! My favorite dessert here is Thai Candied Cassava.

They offer you two kind of soup here : tom yam soup & chicken soup. You can choose either of them OR even two of them. But I bet most people will have 2 kind of soup here just like I did. The tom yam soup is not too tasty but still good, and the chicken soup is just perfect! I sprinkle some fried garlic so it tastes even more tempting.

The shrimps are just sooo fresh, the scallop is tasty, beef is so tender, vegetables are so fresh and green, and……. I don’t know. I can’t describe it. Everything I put into the soup turned out to be just perfect for my dinner. I’m gonna coming back for more! Well, this is actually my second visit. But i’m still really satisfied with the food the offer. So I’m gonna come back for sure.

You might think I’m a samudera-suki-restaurant-sales-girl, but I AM NOT, okay? I just love this restaurant and I think you should too. This place is worth a try and worth a revisit!
