Bandung is one of the most stunning and unique city in Indonesia. I fell in love with the panoramic views of the mountains this city has to offer the moment I moved here. Not to mention the fresh air and the cool breeze! Many even said Bandung shares the similar atmosphere with European cities. You know, there are many luxurious hotels, restaurants, and cafe were opened. PLUS the old buildings here were designed by Dutch architects during the Dutch colonization. Hence, Bandung is known as Parijs van Java (the Paris of Java). One of my favorite activity here in Bandung is dining at a place which offers great ambiance and view, and the most important thing, GREAT FOOD! It’s a good thing that The Restaurant at Padma Hotel offers both.
Say hi to Padma Hotel! This hotel is located at the hillside of Bandung, and yet, it’s only minutes away from the center of the city! What I love about this hotel is that it’s surrounded with a spectacular view of the valley. It feels like you’re far far away from chaotic city while in fact, you’re not. Padma Hotel serves not only free breakfast for the guests, but also a complementary tea time in the afternoon. How convenient! And by the way, Padma Hotel just made it to the #1 Hotel in Bandung in Tripadvisor! Congrats!! Now, we’re heading to The Restaurant, where the party take place.
Since Padma Hotel located just slightly above the green valley, it offers a great place to dine in with extra refreshing breeze of air. I was stunned the moment I entered the restaurant! It has a nice ambiance and settings! Not to mention the big amount selection of food.
Padma Hotel offers a new concept for their restaurant. It’s the so called Thematic Dinner, every Friday and Saturday night! I went there on Friday night together with another bloggers (Timothy Prawiro, Susan & Adam, Ardi, and Eko). Special thanks to Timothy who invited me personally!
On every Friday night, Padma Hotel hold Kampoeng Nelayan (literally : Fisherman Village) dinner. This… is the night you can enjoy a wide range of seafood while surrounded by the natural beauty of the green valley, plus a soothing live music. In addition to seafood, there are many other foods such as kambing guling, Mongolian BBQ, pasta, bread, and many other Asian cuisine! And not to forget the desserts! My favorite part of the dinner.
Let’s DIG IN! But before that, let me sip my coffee. (Yes, they serve good coffee here!) I had Hot Cappuccino, and I’m so glad that they serve it with cinnamon as I love love love to stir my coffee with cinnamon stick. It serves as a flavorful stirrer 😉
For the starter, I had this toasted Turkish bread with chicken fillings. Gosh I really can’t tell what it was named. But one thing I remember for sure : it tasted great! I put some thousand island sauce on top just to make it tasted even better.
Then, I had some BBQ seafood, lamb, and many more.
Oh, did I mention that I came there one hour late? Yes I did! I was supposed to be there on 18.30 but turned out I made on 19.30. LOL. And the moment I got there, my other friends were just ready for desserts. So that’s why I didn’t eat much. I did take plenty of dessert though!
This was my favorite! I’m not sure what it actually is. It was named for Spicy Chocolate something. TASTED SO GOOD! I put some chunks of peanuts and fla sauce on top. SOOO chocolaty. SOOO moist. SOOOO yum. I know.. I know.. It doesn’t look appetizing at all, but trust me, this one is a good one.
I thought this one is salmon pie or something. But that pink filling is not salmon, it’s something made from strawberry! Another favorite of mine!

Every dish here is beautifully crafted, just like a piece of art. I mean, look at those tiny tiny cakes! Aren’t they just too lovely? Especially those tiny macaroons on top of the cakes.
Great place, great food, great service! What more can I ask? There’s only one word best describes my dinner. Excellent. And, oh, perfecto. Now that’s two words.

Thank you for the scrumptious meals, Padma Hotel! And also for the hospitality I couldn’t get anywhere else! Surely this won’t be our last dinner there 😉
