Naughty Nuri’s, Bali

Well, if you’re a fan of Naughty Nuri’s, you’ve probably already known that this legendary expat hang-out restaurant serves a very good ribs – pork ribs to be exact. Probably the best I’ve ever tasted.

It’s also widely popular among martini drinkers. But still I never even tried their martini since it’s pretty expensive, around Rp 110.000 / cup (~ US$ 11). It costs more than the ribs itself, guys. Huft. Anyway, there’s this interesting thing about ordering martini in Naughty Nuri’s. If you order a cup of martini or any other drink that needs to be shaken before, the staff will come up to your table bringing your drink and do a naughty booty-shaking uhlala~ dance while shaking your cocktail.

I went to Naughty Nuri’s in Ubud Bali once, around 2 years ago and I didn’t even know that Naughty Nuri’s got another branch – a bigger one, in Kerobokan, Bali. We passed through this street last Sunday after we visited Deus Ex Machina and was a lil bit surprise that we accidentally found Naughty Nuri’s. It was like… is this the same Naughty Nuri’s as the one in Ubud? But yeah, it is.. It even got a higher rating in foursquare than the one in Ubud. So… , here we are.

There was this not-so-legal street sign in front of the restaurant. You might easily notice it as well. And there’s also a barbecue out front.

The pork ribs here are very very delicious! And huge.. And.. I don’t know. It’s like, this is what this place is famous for. And it’s affordable too. This huge pork ribs priced at Rp 89,000 (~ US$ 9) And it’s enough for 2 people, unless if you’re a meat-suction-machine.

About the drink. Since martini is overpriced for us, we decided to go for a cold beer instead. We also had a bowl of potato wedges and I’m sooo happy we did. It’s like.. spare ribs and fries and beer are the best combination for a hot sunny day. Anyway, about the die-for brutal martini, I’ve heard this thing several times : “Martinis are like breasts. One is not enough and three is too many.” Haha, I can’t recall where I heard this thing or read it, but that’s what comes out my mind today when I wrote this post, so…

Up for grilled ribs and martini? Come earlier before lunch time as the crowds will drive you crazy. Oh one more thing. It seems that you can make reservations for minimum 12 pax here.
