Ubud. It’s one of my favorite area in Bali. It’s green, surrounded by beautiful rice paddies and lush jungles, it’s very noticeably different compared to the other part of Bali. There are no blue beaches here. Only green surroundings. I really love the natural vibe here in Ubud, it’s really charming in its own way. I didn’t get the chance to stay in Ubud for a long period of time. But if I’m given one, I’ll definitely start digging what Ubud has to offer.
This article is written based on my previous experience when exploring Ubud. If you have any other tips or any other cool places that you think I would love to visit next time, please please please share them in the comment box down below! I’d love to go somewhere new.
Drink Coffee at Seniman Coffee Studio
I love to start my day with a cup of coffee. I honestly can’t tell if a coffee is good or really good. All I know is if the coffee is bad or just okay, or really good, lol. And this one is really good. It doesn’t have the bitter taste, it’s not watery, it’s silky smooth. And that’s all I want.
The last time I went, they have some seats upstair and downstair at the mini space. They do have some seats outdoor if you prefer the summer heat or if you’re traveling with your cigarettes.
One thing I love about the coffee here is that it comes with a little Indonesian traditional snack. Last time, I got Nagasari.

Walk Along Campuhan Ridge
After getting the morning coffee intake, I like to head to Campuhan Ridge for a good morning walk. It’s a fairly easy track I’d say. You don’t even need hiking shoes.
People usually just walk through the path or go cycling. There are some amazing spots you can stop by and take pictures. You can spot the green scenery, the river, it just feels like you’re in the middle of the natural park.
What a great way to enjoy the morning breeze.

Visit Blanco Renaissance Museum
Fred and I once went to Blanco Renaissance Museum which was named after the founder, Don Antonio Blanco. We had such a great time there looking over so many paintings, although we didn’t quite understand the meaning of each painting. But we just found out that wandering around seeing new things in a museum is such an exciting thing to do on our free time.
You can spot some parrots here and even better, take a picture with them!

Jl. Raya Penestanan, Sayan, Ubud
Open daily 9AM – 5PM
Eat Pork Ribs at the Famous Naughty Nuri’s
I never missed the famous pork ribs at Naughty Nuri’s whenever I visit Bali. The pork ribs here are ridiculously delicious! And huge.. And for the size, I think it’s pretty affordable. We usually share one portion of pork ribs for two and order some extra potato wedges.

Jl. Raya Sanggingan, Kedewatan, Ubud, Kedewatan, Ubud
Open Daily 10AM – 10PM
Dessert (and Early Dinner) at Cafe Wayan & Bakery
Cafe Wayan and Bakery is another favorite of mine. (Yes, it’s that Cafe Wayan that was featured in the Eat Pray Love movie). I read so many good reviews about this place and most of them say Cafe Wayan serves a very good strawberry cheesecake.
If you’re going to dine in Cafe Wayan & Bakery, do look for the outdoor seat at the back side of the yard. Ask for a table at the back by the small fish pond & do sit on cushions, not at the tables. And you’ll find yourself relaxing! I could even take a nap there. Although this place seems small and a little bit “dark” from the outside, back so far of the yard is incredibly cozy. The front look doesn’t give its justice.

Open Daily 8AM – 10:30PM
Chill by the Hill at Murni’s Warung
Murni’s Warung is one of those places I’d definitely put on top of my list. It’s a nice restaurant, with a beautiful view of a river, cliff, and coconut trees. And yes, they serve good food. What more could I ask for?

Once you walk further and further to the back side of the restaurant, oh my, it’s huge. There are a lot of seats. There are even more downstairs. I think there are 4 levels in total. Just so you can imagine how big it is. We picked the one outdoor so we could see this beautiful view near the river while having lunch.

Buy Some Gelato!
I always find it hard to pick just one flavor when there are lots of flavours to choose from. You can always ask for some sample though if you’re not sure. They’ll be happy to give you some with a tiny plastic spoon. Seriously, who doesn’t want some scope of gelato when it’s hot outside? And it’s always hot outside in Bali. So you have no reason not to :p

Shop! Shop! Shop!
Because why not right? You can easily find some souvenir and clothing shop here in Ubud. But my favorite is to explore the one that sells natural skin care products like face wash, shampoo, and you know, things like that.

Currently I’m in love with Sensatia Bonaticals, it’s a local company producing all natural skin care products. I’ve been using their soap-free cleansers for my face and so far I’m loving it!
Where To Stay
Before I go traveling, I always made sure to get my accommodation set before departure. And I always made my booking online, just to make my travel planning easier. I just found this site tinggal.com. What’s unique about this site is that it offers a premium stay with affordable price. If you check their site, you’ll understand why!
If you’re going to Ubud, and prefer to stay at a low budget standard hotel (with great facility) you might want to check this one.
Tinggal Standard: Lanyahan Ubud
Even the standard room looks fancy to me. This one costs around Rp 500.000 (USD 38) per night before discount. This month, it’s as cheap as Rp 350.000 (USD 26) per night!!
And… it got a pool too!
But if you’re feeling fancier, I’d recommend Tinggal Elite Ubud Monkey Forest.
Tinggal Elite: Ubud Monkey Forest
To celebrate their first birthday, tinggal.com offers up to 50% discount off their normal price this month (March 2017). And it’s a pretty good deal. So if you’re planning to have a short holiday within this month, you might want to check their site. And see if there’s any room suitable for you.
Ah, writing this post made me miss Ubud so badly. Until we meet again, Ubud! I can’t wait to write more about you.
