When it comes to chilies and peppers, some people like it a lot, like they could just swallow all those spicy ingredients, while some people like it a little and some avoid it. I was raised in a small town in Sumatra island where spicy foods are widely spread. My tongue is somehow used to taste any kind of spicy ingredients.
It’s funny that since I moved out to Bali in June 2013, I haven’t found any spicy foods that really fits my taste. I mean, there are chillies but it doesn’t ‘kick’ me. You know?
So, yesterday, we went out for dinner with my two friends from high school. Since we long for spicy foods, they recommend this place : Warung Nasi Bebek Bu Rima. It’s quite well known among locals here!

They offer Fried Duck, Fried Chicken, and Fried Lele (catfish) with spicy chili sauce, fried tofu, and many more.
I had Fried Chicken and I LOVE it!

The fried chicken was so crispy outside! And the funny thing is… that the chicken was topped with some kind of indomie-curry-flavor-seasoning-sauce*. Makes it even more savory. Chili was super spicy! In Bahasa Indonesia, it is nendang.
* For those who might not know what Indomie is, it’s actually a well known Indonesian instant noodle brand. You’ve got to try the Mie Goreng.
Anyway, if you love spicy foods and you can bear street food eats, you’ve got to try this one! I’m so happy we did! 😀
