Revolver Espresso came across our little chit chat during our lunch at The Cafe at The Mulia, Bali. Diana mentioned it as the most popular coffee joint in Bali at the moment.
Since I don’t feel like I want to miss this famous coffee during my trip, Gaby and I went there for a brunch on Monday morning. Besides, the breakfast my hotel served was really awful. Even their coffee doesn’t taste like what coffee should be. So I decided to skip my breakfast at the hotel and went for a decent brunch instead.
Revolver Espresso was located in an alley in Seminyak (near the Seminyak Square) just exactly as their official facebook page says, “Revolver Espresso at Gang 51”. Gang means alley in Bahasa Indonesia. So… They’re telling you the truth.

I was like… how could a small coffee joint in an alley be so popular? We even lose our way and take another round to find this one. Even the door itself was written “Do not enter or you’ll get shot“, don’t you think?

I was surprise as I enter the room. The coffee smells so good and strong! That makes me think they have some kind of coffee perfume or something. But anyway, we also hardly find a table for us. It really is crowded for a small hidden coffee shop like this.
I found that Revolver Espresso actually only takes a small room behind a boutique and decorate it with vintage furnishings and stuffs, and Voila! It turns out to be so quirky for a coffee shop.

About the coffee…
Since I love Flat White so much, I always make sure I have one if there’s any. I was so glad that Revolver Espresso does serve Flat White as it’s kinda hard here in Indonesia to find a coffee shop which serve Flat White. Most will probably say “Do you mean latte? It’s actually the same.” or “We can make you a small latte. Is that what you mean by Flat White?”
And I would probably just answer : “Well, latte’s good. I’ll have one.” or “I’ll take black coffee instead, please.”
But actually for me, Flat White and Latte is two different things. I found that Latte is somehow milky… and has a layer of foam on top. While Flat White tasted like an even mix of milk and foam and espresso. They don’t have a thick layer of foam on top. And it tasted stronger. And of course, yummier. But again, I’m not a coffee expert. So it’s just based on my coffee drinking experience and observation.
And here’s the Flat White Revolver Espresso has offered. So smooth and strong!

Gaby had a cup of good cafe latte and it seems that she really enjoys it. She even ruined the latte art before I took a good picture of it.

We also had some breakfast meal.
Mine was The Revolver (45k) which is basically a sour dough with avocado, perfect pouch eggs, and homemade relish. Tasted so good! I really like how the sour dough smells like.

Gaby had something called KGB (45k). It’s a delicious grilled polenta, with sauteed mushrooms, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. And a sprinkle of freshly grin black pepper and salt and it’ll tasted like heaven.

It’s actually our first time eating this kind of breakfast. We didn’t even used to see such meals before. It somehow does look strange for us. And it’s a lil bit pricey too. But we enjoy our breakfast as much as we do.
Until next time! We’ll definitely come back for more good coffee! And I’m so gonna try their Long Black.
Tips
It might be tricky for you to find Revolver Espresso. So, the easiest way for you to do is to look out for Bali Clinic as it’s located just at the opposite of the clinic. And they also serve Lunch menu if you don’t feel like having breakfast.

You should, Sandra! It’s so popular as a ‘hidden gem’ in Bali nowadays.
I heard about this place from my friend and haven’t had a chance to give it a try. if you like coffee try ippolito near villa lumbung, they also have a good coffee 🙂
Hi Monica! Yeah it’s quite popular now. Wow never heard about Ippolito before. I’ll definitely give it a try next time! 🙂
Nice place for rest I Think ))
Yup, great place for relaxing and have a little chit chat over coffee. I would definitely come back 😀
Too bad I can’t drink coffee now, though I love it >.<
Me too! I should have followed a diet plan for my heart 😦 I’m not supposed to drink coffee, eat red meat, dairy products, and stuffs like that. But… it’s just too hard to follow the rules.
I am pregnant so I hafta 😀
Wooooow congratulations!!!!! 🙂 so happy for you.
Kalau makanan sih bisa di-rem ya, tapi nafsu jalan-jalan itu… >.<
Hihihi. Ga boleh terlalu aktif ya mbak?
Looks good there!
Yup. One of the nicest coffee shop I’ve been!
This coffee shop looks like my kind of place. I love the interiors and it seems like they take coffee very seriously which is very important to me. I must remember it for when I’ll make it to Bali (who knows when?). Thanks for sharing!
Hi Franca! Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog post.
Well yes! It’s very popular for their coffee and believe me, that tiny room smells like a coffee machine.
Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll make it pretty soon enough.
Buon anno 2014, Franca!
I did like the visit here a couple months ago. Though it was nothing fresh just an Australian Cafe owned by an Australian in a part of Bali that is heavily populated by Australian. Could almost feel like I’m in a beach in Sydney rather than Bali. But thats not to say their coffee wasn’t good though 🙂 But I was more impressed with Seniman Cafe in Ubud.
