Welcome, December!

Christmas Tree

November used to be my favorite month of the year. Since it’s always raining here in Bandung and the weather is just perfect. But it didn’t rain as much as last year. Instead, I found that this year, the rain never stops pouring on December.

So I guess December is my new favorite month. It’s even better when there are Christmas tree, the carols, the cake, the warm greetings, the weather, the idea of Santa and his gifts. I love it. I somehow thinks that they are magical.

And Fred laughed at me for that. He was like : “… is it?” when I mentioned about what magical December feels. With his plain innocent face.

But anyway, last Christmas, I had a dinner at Samudera Suki and I made this super easy Strawberry Nutella Pizza. And guess what? This year, I bake even more cakes! I know it’s not even Christmas yet but I can’t stop baking some cakes and desserts. Especially when the rain never stops pouring. It just feels so good to turn my oven on and keep me warm during the night. (Yes, I bake at night)

I don’t usually bake my own cake since it always turns out to be the one you would love to throw away. But not this time. I made some banana bread (thank you Gaby for the wonderful recipe!), Oreo Cheesecake, Pretzels, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Banana Chocochip Muffin, and Apple Pie! In 2 weeks! 🙂

Then Fred was like : “I wonder what got into you……” And well, I don’t know! I just feel like baking is my new hobby. I feel happy doing it. I feel even happier eating the cake I made.

I made two cup of this strawberry cheesecake for Fred. He didn’t mention it, but I know he’ll be more than happy to have the third cup. Am I right? Well, Strawberry Cheesecake is his favorite dessert anyway. He’ll never be bored with it.

And since I’m kinda addicted to banana and chocolate, and also cinnamon (OH MY THEY TASTED SO GOOD), I made this muffin the last few days. It has banana, chocolate, and cinnamon in it. Lovey dovey.

Then, I made this apple pie just exactly yesterday. Too bad it does not look too good. It looks super messy. And what I mean by super is… super. Tasted good though. I even eat the half of it in one night.

This morning, I made some Cronuts. It’s a lil bit too oily since I’m not good with frying things up. But… since I made it myself, I wouldn’t bother to eat all of them.

I found that baking also eventually cuts my budget for food. This way, I could save some more for travelling! I mean, I don’t have to buy some boring white breads for breakfast. Instead, I make my own cheap healthy kind of cake. And besides, it’s quite challenging and exciting. So, I don’t see why not.

You know what I’m thinking now? I’m thinking about making some eclairs and more pie of course. Oh! And semifreddo too.

Oh how I wish December never ends. Anyway, how do you spend your days on December? 🙂

Thank you Kayla!!!! 😀 oh that was a christmas tree at one of the most popular mall here. I love it too! Didn’t imagine before that a big teddy bear would end up in a christmas tree

Bears are perfect for Christmas! My tree has a lot of Pooh Bear ornaments, a little different than a teddy but fun nonetheless. Maybe the teddy bear makes a good gift for under the tree. 🙂
