As I promised earlier on my post about Museum Satwa, I’m gonna write a brief review about what it is inside Batu Secret Zoo.
So.. Batu Secret Zoo is actually located in the same area with Museum Satwa, which is Jawa Timur Park 2 in Batu, Malang. It’s probably one of the biggest recreation park in Indonesia! There are museum (Museum Satwa / Museum of Wildlife), zoo (Batu Secret Zoo), hotel (Pohon Inn) and Eco Park. And believe me, all of them are interesting! If you happen to visit Batu, you should (or you’ll regret later) spend a day in Jawa Timur Park 2.
Well, since Batu Secret Zoo is located in Batu, a small city in East Java, I didn’t expect it to be something splendid, something remarkable. Turns out, I was totally wrong. It’s like the place you shouldn’t miss in Indonesia. I believe your kids would love it here. Even I do!
The zoo itself is very clean and well organized. We just need to follow the given path and we won’t miss a thing. There are also e-bikes available for rent, so you could just strolling around using your bikes instead of walking. But I prefer walking! You know me.
Anyway, what makes me even surprised is that the animals they got here are no ordinary animals you could found in any zoo in Indonesia. I mean, there are a wide range of animals from all around the world. And all of them are treated very well. They look so healthy and they interact with each other actively.
Flying Lemur Area
The first area you’ll find is the Flying Lemur area. I didn’t know what Flying Lemur actually is. Actually, I didn’t even know what Lemur is! It’s nice to finally know what they look like.

And this ‘classroom’ is the playground of the Flying Lemur.

Reptile Area
Next was the reptile area. There were snakes, and turtles, and I don’t know.. reptiles. I’m not into reptiles.

Aquarium Area
Enough with the reptiles, now let’s move on the the aquarium area!
There were so many kinds of fish inside the aquarium. While my favorite was this baby shark. It has no teeth!
Savannah Area
Another exciting part of Batu Secret Zoo is the Savannah area! There were so many kind of African animals gather here in the savannah and all visitors would be able to walk through the middle of savannah (note that the savannah and the walking are is separated with glass-wall.) to see all the animals. There were zebras, tigers, Oryx, and even Giant Sable Antelope!

Tiger Land
Tiger land was also very exciting! There were white tigers, African tigers, Sumatran tigers, and many more. I can’t see the difference though. There was also this “Tiger Fishing” thing when you can feed the tiger while standing on top of the acrylic glass.

Fantasy Land
After walking for hours in the zoo, you will find this small theme park that has a variety of vehicles to ride on! And the best part is…. you can ride em all for free!

Interesting, isn’t it?
Well, for me, it’s like the best zoo I’ve visited so far in Indonesia. I really recommend everyone to go to this place. It would be such a memorable day!
Have a good day!

I do too! I would love to come back someday.
I visited Batu Secret Zoo few years ago, maybe i must visit that place one more time
anyway, nice gorilla pose 😀
(*joke )
Hahaha, you notice my pose! :O
Well, there might have been several renovations done during those years. Revisiting the zoo is a good idea! 🙂
Seems quite interesting, Sharon. The last time I visited Jatim Park, the Secret Zoo was not existed yet.
It is interesting! Well, that’s too bad. Perhaps you should better visit it again next time 😉 It’s huge!
These are not lemurs they are Callitrichidaes (marmosets and lemurs), flying lemurs are culogos or flying squirrel type animals. Tortoises love land turtles prefer water, its a tortoise.
Doing some research on Malang and came accross this. – From just a nobody
Hi! Thanks for the correction! 😀
I didn’t know the difference between tortoise and turtle before. It’s nice to know.
Took me 3.5 hours to explore this beautiful place! It was worth the sore feet! The food inside can be pricey and not so nice, so bring some snacks and drink with you
