I’ve just received my very first postcard about 2 days ago. A lovely friend of mine sent this from Tokyo, Japan. It takes about 2 weeks to reach Indonesia. That’s pretty fast, don’t you think? I mean, I sent the same thing 2 days earlier before she sent this one. But there’s no sign of my postcard arriving in Japan. So… I guess mine got lost along its way so it won’t even reach Japan before my friend go back to Indonesia. I think I better send another one.
I know sending postcards sounds a lil bit old-fashioned. It’s like being a granny. I mean, many travelers have stopped sending postcards as it’s pretty hard to find a stamp, a post office, or a mailbox. Or even finding the postcard itself. Facebook, Twitter, Emails, free phone calls or other messenger have replaced this traditional postal method.
But it seems nowadays, postcards have become a thing as when people are away on holiday, they will choose to send this ‘Wish You Were Here’ or ‘I had such a great time here!’ messages. I mean, what’s more heart–touching than that? So I guess I’ll start sending postcards as I travel.
How about you? Have you sent or received a postcard lately? 🙂
