Hummingbird Eatery & Guest House

Oh well, here comes another rainy day. I love the fact that the rain never stop pouring in November. And I got even more excited when I found out that the rain never stops in December as well. But you know, weather does, in fact, affect your appetite. I mean my appetite.. People living in cold climates tend to burn more calories each day just to keep their body warm. At least that’s what I read from the internet. So I guess that’s why I’m gaining some weight these days.

… Hey, I’m just trying to made up a pretty-reasonable story why I got this fat big ugly belly.

So, to fulfill my appetite, my sisters and I decided to take a coffee time at Hummingbird Eatery, one of everyone’s favorite cafe in Jalan Progo, Bandung, Indonesia. This place can be easily recognized from its ‘bird’ theme. And you know what? Hummingbird does have a huge bird nest that covers the outdoor seats! How cute is that?

Here’s the hint : we came here for waffles!

You know, I do love pancakes & waffles. It’s like I’m addicted to them. And I heard that the waffles here in Hummingbird is so great. So that’s why we came actually.

Lucky us that we did dine in that day, because it was the last day they gave the 10% off discount for any waffles/pancakes/crepes/galettes purchase!

I know that waffle should actually be a breakfast meal, but having waffles as an afternoon snack is something I’d love to do over and over again. I mean, who doesn’t want a breakfast in a cold rainy afternoon?

… Well, that’s just not me.

So, we ordered Royale waffle and Bananarama waffle. I like Bananarama waffle better. It was a large plate with two waffles sliced & caramelized banana with dark chocolate and butterscotch sauce, almond flakes and a scope of vanilla ice cream. Just right for 2 people (even though I could possibly finish ’em myself). The waffle is not too crunchy (which is why I love it) but it has a very crispy edge (which is why I love it more!).

You know what? I am now addicted to Hummingbird’s waffles! If you ever have a chance to visit Hummingbird Eatery, just be sure to try the sweet waffles they offer because it is THAT great.

Hey, I think I should buy a waffle iron soon!
