You know that one thing I love about Singapore? It’s that it is super friendly for tourists! Getting around is so easy, there are maps for local attractions, you won’t feel like a lost traveler, lol. That’s actually why Singapore is one of the most popular tourist destination in Asia. Oh, if by any chance, you’ve never been here before, there are some info about the country that we think is nice for you to know.
We always thought that Singapore is just all about shopping and eating out. But when we started to look for another option, we found several really cool places that we never thought exists in Singapore! We certainly never knew that Singapore is famous for its park because we’ve never really explored its green side before.
Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of taking a short trip to Singapore. I spent the first day alone and slept at a hostel with the other 3 guys sharing the same room. Trust me, my mom freaked out, like so much, when I told her about my roommate. I walked around the city, went to a Cat Cafe, ate a lot of local foods, meeting good old friend. It was more than I could ask for.
You know, most Indonesian come back to Singapore for shopping. Well, it’s a bit different with me, I come back to eat. I found that Singapore offers a great amount of varied foods I can hardly find in Indonesia. And I can’t explain what kind of food it is. It can be Chinese, Malay, Indian, Indonesian, Taiwan, or sometimes the food is even influenced by other culture and ingredients. So here you go…
MY FAVORITE SINGAPORE LOCAL FOODS.
It was a nice cloudy day when I accidentally found Neko No Niwa Cat Cafe during my walk along Boat Quay Singapore alone in the pouring rain. I’ve read a lot about this cat cafe thingy before but never had a chance to visit one myself. So when I was about to go to Singapore, I promised myself to visit Neko No Niwa, which is also Singapore’s first cat cafe since it’s located just a few blocks away from my hostel.
Finding Neko No Niwa is quite easy since it has this catchy cat-shaped sign. Continue reading “Neko No Niwa Cat Cafe Singapore”
You wouldn’t believe me if I tell you that last week makes the first time I ate Bak Kut Teh, like ever. And to be specific, Song Fa Bak Ku Teh was my first one! Think I made the right choice.
Long story short, Bak Kut Teh (which literally is translated as ‘meat bone tea‘) is a soup consists of pork ribs. I was a bit confused about the ‘tea’ part since I don’t think they use tea as the soup base? But then later I found out that people normally eat it with tea since most believe that tea can help to dissolve some amount of fat contained in the soup. So that’s how it was named after! I supposed.
Last month, I had the pleasure of taking a very quick unplanned trip to Singapore. I don’t really remember what Singapore looks like. What it feels like to stay and travel on my own. I mean, my grandma & my mom are coming too. But we didn’t really catch up together very much there. They have a plan, which doesn’t sound so interesting to us. So we (Karen, Vanessa, Valerie, and me) decided to take a walk by ourselves. Continue reading “What I miss the most about Singapore? FOOD!”
Hi! It’s been such a long time since my last post, I know. I’m not in my holiday season yet. So, as a matter of fact, I got nothing to write about.
I went to Universal Studio Singapore (USS) last month, in 25th February to be exact. And I got too excited! Because you know what, I could finally meet up with Pinocchio, the Madagascar, Puss in Boots, Woody Woodpecker, Shrek, the Elmo, and even Cleopatra!
