French Toast

French Toast

It’s breakfast time! What about having a french toast? Too mainstream, huh? But this is one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast and you should know how simple and easy it is to make one at home.

The best thing is, most of you have all the ingredients needed on hand, such as : bread, egg, and milk. Don’t say you don’t have it. Please…. don’t.

But of course, if you want to make a slightly different taste, or you wanna name your french toast with a fancy name, you can add cinnamon, nutmeg, or vanilla, or you can just simply add a pinch of salt / sugar. But seriously, all the basic ingredients you need are just bread, egg, and milk.

You may use any kind of bread you want. I don’t wanna name all the possibilities. They are just to many, you know. I used 2 slice of white bread. Or sometimes I use whole wheat bread instead. It’s up to you.

The formula is simple. 1 egg. 1/4 cup of milk. For 2 slice of bread.

Mix the egg and milk in a bowl. Add a pinch of sugar/cinnamon/nutmeg/vanilla. Beat lightly with a fork, or a whisk. And then, start heating your skillet, or your non-sticky frying pan over a medium heat.

Now that your pan is ready…..

Soak your bread one by one to the egg mixture. Make sure you get each of the side wet. But don’t soak them too long. It’ll be too….wetty eggy yucky?

Put your bread on the pan, heat it slowly until the bottom side is golden brown, then flip the toast and get the other side brown enough.

And… voila! Your french toast is ready to start your day.

I served it with maple syrup and it’s just……great. I can’t describe more.

Ah, and don’t forget your coffee 😉
